Yoga

What is Yoga + Yoga Therapy?

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on the body’s natural gravitation towards health and self-healing. The purpose of yoga is to build strength, awareness and harmony in both the body and mind. This is practiced through movement, breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditation.

Physically a yoga practice can help you with strength, flexibility, mobility and weight loss. With guidance from your yoga teacher you will work through different movement patterns, in which you connect your breath to the movement creating a meditative feeling.

Mentally yoga helps you to manage stress levels, anxiety, concentration and can improve sleep quality. Each session will start with relaxing breath work and finish with a guided meditation.

As there are so many different types of yoga available, attending a personalised 1:1 or 2:1 session will allow you to feel the benefits of yoga at a faster rate, by catering specifically to your individual needs and goals.

Yoga Therapy

At LEAF Health Hitchin we also offer Yoga Therapy, a personalised, evidence-based approach that integrates yoga, mindfulness, neuroscience, and psychotherapy to support mental and physical health. It’s used to regulate the nervous system, reduce stress and rumination, and enhance well-being. The method is rooted in scientific research and delivered by highly trained and experienced professionals Chloe Scott and Alex Flatman, making it a powerful complement to conventional healthcare.
