Meditation

About Meditation – sessions now also available online

Meditation isn’t about becoming a different person a new person or even a better person. Meditation is about training your awareness to bring more balance to your life.

Think of meditation like exercising a muscle that you’ve never really worked out before. It takes consistent practice to get comfortable; you can be trained to use your breath to calm your thoughts. Trying to meditate at home can be distracting and harder to keep yourself accountable.  In a teacher-led session you will find much more ease and therefore feel more benefit.

A guided meditation session allows you to feel the benefits of meditation more effectively than a home practice through the use of techniques such as visualisation and breath work.

There’s no such thing as perfect meditation. Sometimes your focus will wander or you’ll forget to follow your breath. That’s ok. It’s part of the experience. What’s most important is to meditate consistently. It’s one of those things where the journey is more important than the destination.

Who will benefit from a meditation session?

Anybody and everybody! Learning meditation techniques will benefit all people, no matter what their age or physical ability. In particular, people struggling with stress, anxiety, lack of concentration and lack of motivation. Sessions can be conducted seated or lying down.

While meditation isn’t a cure-all therapy, it can certainly provide some much needed head space and teach you techniques transferable to your everyday life.

A meditation session doesn’t require any previous experience; the most important tools you can bring with you to your meditation practice are a little patience, some kindness for yourself and an open mind.
