Profile Picture

Neurodivergent Perspectives is a specialist neurodevelopmental assessment service offering comprehensive assessments for neurodivergent (ND) conditions, including autism, ADHD, specific learning difficulties (such as dyslexia and dyscalculia), and ARFID. In addition to assessment, the service provides neurodivergent coaching delivered online for individuals diagnosed with ADHD and those with dual autism and ADHD profiles.

The service is delivered by a highly specialist multidisciplinary team (MDT), bringing together expertise from clinical psychology, speech and language therapy, education specialists, and mental health professionals.

Neurodivergent Perspectives prides itself on providing neuro-affirming, person-centred assessment and support, with a strong focus on developing a detailed understanding of each individual’s unique neurodevelopmental profile. This depth of understanding supports families, educators, and employers to implement meaningful reasonable adjustments in education and the workplace.

The team has particular expertise in assessing complex presentations of neurodivergence, including high-masking profiles and co-occurring neurodevelopmental conditions.

Assessments are offered for children from as young as two years old through to adults, using a combination of virtual appointments with our MDT via Microsoft Teams and face-to-face appointments held at LEAF Health in North Wales, with Helen Duckworth, Speech & Language Therapist.

In line with NICE guidelines, neurodevelopmental assessments for autism and/or ADHD may include a range of components, depending on individual needs. These can include a detailed developmental history, conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams, and standardised assessment tools such as the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition). The ADOS-2 is a structured, evidence-based assessment that uses play-based or conversational activities to observe communication, social interaction, and behaviour associated with autism. This is administered face-to-face at LEAF Health in North Wales.

Assessments may also include the QbCheck, an objective, computer-based assessment used to measure attention, impulsivity, and activity levels associated with ADHD.

For ADHD-only assessments, the QbCheck is administered face-to-face at LEAF Health in North Wales, while for dual autism and ADHD assessments it may be completed online via Microsoft Teams.

Additional information is gathered through standardised questionnaires such as Conners or CARRS, completed by parents or partners, teachers or employers, and the young person or adult themselves, alongside structured school or workplace questionnaires.

For individuals or families who feel that a neurodevelopmental assessment may be beneficial, the first step is to book a virtual consultation with Helen Duckworth, Speech & Language Therapist.

This consultation provides an opportunity to discuss concerns and explore which type of assessment may be most appropriate.

Consultations can be booked via the Neurodivergent Perspectives website.
