Reiki Healing
Reiki is a natural form of “hands on” healing that uses the power of touch to restore emotional, physical and spiritual balance. Reiki is a powerful but gentle, non-invasive treatment that is suitable for everyone, no matter what their age or physical condition. It is particularly beneficial for pain relief, stress and associated disorders such as insomnia, migraines, depression etc. It is also very effective in alleviating the symptoms of a wide range of common physical disorders as it always creates a beneficial effect.
It can also be used in conjunction with other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
What is Reiki?
Reiki, which in Japanese means “Universal life energy” is a form of healing that originated in the East and was rediscovered by Dr Mikao Usui in the late 1800’s. Since then it has spread through Europe and America and is now firmly established as an extremely popular complementary therapy.
How does it work?
Reiki energy works by enhancing the body’s own healing mechanisms and can bring about improvement in all kinds of physical and emotional problems. A Reiki treatment feels like a wonderful glowing warmth that flows through and around you. This experience induces a deep feeling of peacefulness and security, and in this state the body is able to release tensions and re-balance.
What it is good for?
Reiki uses the healing energy of touch to bring about improvement on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. It is excellent for any health problem that is aggravated by stress and because it is so safe and gentle it can be used with chronic conditions such as cancer, M.E. and HIV. It is also suitable for the very young, the elderly, pregnant women and convalescents.
Self Help
As Reiki is so simple in its methods, anyone can learn to be a practitioner, whatever their age, intellect or spiritual interest. Reiki healing is believed to be an intuitive ability that we all possess. The Reiki teacher (or Master) simply shows us how to use this natural gift through a process called “an attunement”.
If you commit to becoming a Reiki practitioner you will find yourself on a rewarding journey that will add immeasurable richness to your life. It can be invaluable as a tool for self-development and also as a way to help other people enhance their lives.
The Reiki Principles
Just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings
Just for today I will not worry
